Administrative Support Assistant (OA)

This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. Selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for at least 2 weeks to 6 months per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. If qualifying based on education, a copy of your unofficial transcripts must be provided with your application. Applicants must possess the Typing Requirement to be qualified for this position. You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors. You are self-certifying that you possess this typing requirement. In addition to meeting the typing requirement, applicants must meet the specialized experience listed below:
Minimum Qualifications Requirement GS-05:
Have at least one year of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following:
(1) using software programs such as, word processing, spreadsheet, or database (e.g., Excel, Access, Word, or similar operating systems); (2) providing information or assistance to the public in a business or recreation setting; (3) compiling and analyzing information to report; and (4) performing technical work in payroll, travel, and budget systems. Or Have successfully completed a full four year course of study above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (You must submit transcripts.) Or Have successfully completed a combination of post-high school education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described in A above, that when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. Experience:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as varies.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
